Sell your Polaris quad
Sell your Polaris quad, from a farm Sportsman 450 to a 6x6 Big Boss. T-plated or never registered, it makes no odds. Neither does AWD that won't engage. We'll come back with a price within 24 hours.

What affects a Polaris quad's price
Sportsman hours and bodywork
Hours or miles on the display, plus photos of the racks and plastics, which are easy to snap on a Sportsman.
On-Demand AWD engagement
Polaris uses On-Demand True AWD: the front wheels drive automatically when the rears slip. If it doesn't engage, or the belt slips, tell us.
EPS on a Sportsman
An EPS Sportsman is worth more than the same model without it, as long as it works and there's no warning on the dash.
Road-registered T-plate versions
Polaris sells tractor-approved (T3) Sportsman 570 versions in the UK. A T-plated one with its V5C appeals to buyers who need to use the road.
6x6 bed and tipper
On a 6x6 the tipping bed and rear drive matter as much as the engine. Photos of the bed help.
Polaris paperwork check
A V5C for a registered Sportsman, or the dealer invoice if it's never been on the road. We check your ID too.
The Sportsman, size by size
If you want to sell your Polaris quad, it's almost certainly a Sportsman. That one name covers most of the Polaris quads in the UK, so it all lives here on one page.
Sportsman 570 and 450 H.O.
The Sportsman 570 replaced the long-running Sportsman 500 for 2014, and the 450 H.O. arrived for 2016. They're the Polaris quads we see most on farms. The T-plated 570s are road-registered versions for farm use.
Sportsman 850 and XP 1000
The big twins, bought for heavy towing on estates and shoots. The Sportsman XP 850 arrived for 2009 and the XP 1000 for 2015.
6x6 and Touring
The 6x6 Big Boss adds a third axle and a tipping bed, and the Touring models carry a passenger. Both have their own buyers, so tell us which you've got.
Scrambler and Outlaw
The Scrambler XP 850 and XP 1000 are the sporty Polaris quads; we price Scramblers and other sports quads on their own merits. The Outlaw 50 and Outlaw 110 EFI are youth quads, and the 110 has an adjustable speed limiter; our kids' quad buying page explains what we check. Working Sportsmans are covered on our page for farm quads collected from the yard.
Three Polaris pages, one for each machine
This page is for Polaris quads (ATVs) only. Polaris also builds utility vehicles and sports buggies, and those sell to different buyers. A side-by-side with a bench seat and a tipping bed is a Ranger, which has its own page, linked below. Got a sports buggy with a roll cage? See selling a Polaris RZR.
Selling more than one? Add each machine to the form and they'll be priced as a group.
A Sportsman with a burnt belt or dead AWD
Burnt-out belt? AWD that never engages? Even with a seized engine, a Sportsman still has a frame and drivetrain that other owners need. We winch it onto the trailer from wherever it stands. Here's our approach to non-running quads.
Polaris frame numbers move around
It varies by model and year, so check before you hunt. Polaris's manual for the 2022 Sportsman XP 1000 Touring puts it on the right front frame tube. On many Sportsman 450 and 570s it's on the left rear of the frame, and on some bigger models it's in the left front wheel well. Our VIN location guide has more help, and your owner's manual will show the exact spot.
Whichever tube it's on, it must match the V5C or dealer invoice before we pay. Want a ballpark first? See what drives a quad's value. For a firm figure, get a Polaris offer.
Your Sportsman: advertise it, or take a trade price?
- AWD or belt faults priced in, offer within 24 hours
- 6x6s and Touring models collected too
- Paid by bank transfer ahead of loading
- No test drives round your fields
- Buyers want to see the AWD work on a slope
- A big 6x6 is awkward to deliver to a buyer
- Ad fees or auction commission
- Payment risk is yours to manage
Polaris quad owners' questions
Do you buy the Sportsman 6x6?
Yes. Tell us the condition of the tipping bed and rear drive.
I've got a Ranger, not a quad.
We buy those too. Start an offer and pick UTV, or see our Polaris Ranger page.
Do you buy road-registered Sportsman quads?
Yes. Bring the V5C. T-plated and road-registered Sportsmans are welcome.
My Sportsman's AWD won't engage. Will you still buy it?
It's still worth selling. Say what happens when it should engage and we'll allow for the repair.
Is an unregistered Sportsman harder to sell?
Not to us. Most farm Sportsmans were never registered, so we check the dealer invoice against the frame number.
